A guide To Dance Underwear: Women. While the subject of regular underwear may seem taboo, dance underwear are simply cool to talk about.
Many men tend to not care about the type of underwear they wear for dancing. But if you consider the “look”, “comfort” and “feel” benefits to wearing the proper underwear, you might just start caring. In this short guide we are going to feature some of the ordinary types of underwear that most of you already own and give you the good, bad and ugly scoop about dancing in them. After that we will provide you with a few suggestions of dance underwear in the market today that were specifically made for dancing. Let’s get it on!
1. Boxers
Boxers have an elastic band around the top, which fits snugly against a man’s waistline while allowing the bottoms to hang loose and free.
Dance Analysis:
Comfort: Too comfortable for dance! They do not provide great support for the..mgh…package!
Look: Because they tend to be a little bulkier than some of the underwear coming up next, they may have lines showing through pants and jeans. This will not give you the ideal dancer’s look.
Feel: You may feel as though there is too much fabric down there (bunch up) when worn with dress pants or tight pants. Plus they tend to ride up during certain dance movements causing wedgies!!
Overall: Not ideal for dancing.
2. Boxer Briefs
A boxer and brief combo underwear. This type of underwear consists of shorts reaching the middle of the thigh on most men, with the top fitting snugly against the crotch and waist. Boxer briefs provide the best of both worlds, as they don’t ride up like boxers, yet provide more room than briefs themselves.
Dance Analysis:
Comfort: Excellent comfort.
Look: Much better look than the boxers (above) but because they tend to reach the man’s middle thigh, they could show through pants.
Feel: They feel snug against the body and provide good support for the private area. Depending on your preferences, you may or may not like to feel the extra fabric on your leg.
Overall: Not bad for dancing.
3. Briefs
Briefs are also known as “tighty-whities,” as they are small and often white. Depending on the style, they could be tight or loose fitted. We recommend a very snug tighty-whity for dancing!
Dance Analysis:
Comfort: Excellent comfort.
Look: Practically no lines showing! Because there is less fabric, there are hardly any lines showing through when wearing pants.
Feel: You don’t really feel them. This allows for freedom of movement and concentration on what’s important – THE DANCING!
Overall: Best option of the 3 if tightly fitted.
Now that you got an idea of what you can do with just your regular undies, let’s look at some dance underwear products out there that were designed specifically for dancing. The following were designed to provide you with the ideal comfort, look and feel for dancing.

I looking for underwear that give excellent support and keep everything in place. Problem is leg elastic stretches on most underwear I have tried and things seem to fall through the leg hole.
Hi, Neat post. There’s an issue together with
your website in web explorer, may check
this? IE still is the marketplace chief and a large portion of other people will
leave out your magnificent writing due to this problem.
Leon,
I was surprised by this article. I did not know that underwear need be considered.
Somehow I feel I must progress quite a bit before this becomes a major consideration.

Well, we left out a couple of the plethora of options for men’s underwear, like the trunk, the low rise, the thong.
I’ve spent quite a bit of money, and bought literally dozens of brands and styles trying to find underwear that don’t do 2 things they all do – pinch you somewhere very sensitive, and give you wedgie. So far, no recommendations. The wedgie problem can be solved by wearing far too small a size, but that makes the pinching problem much worse. The pinching problem can be solved by wearing “contour” style, but that makes the wedgie problem worse, and it actually puts an obstacle in the follow’s way during an underarm pass, and we won’t even talk about what happens during a whip.
3 easy answers since I did jazz an ballet, men had to wear a dance belt you can get a dance belt that has a full seat, It gives you comfortable support up front and no wedgies in the back.
Next you could try Tommy James underwear its expensive but they claim “no adjustments needed” and that is the case as well as Sheath underwear their is a separate “pouch” one for the “banana” and one for the grapes, Very comfortable but a bit pricey.
